This is such a simple puppet to make. My children are strangely attached to their old socks. Even the ones with holes in. They don’t like me to throw them out. So I dutifully keep them in the ‘doing box’ with a vague plan of doing something in the future. Now is that time! We made these really easy sock puppets. It was a great activity and they loved the puppets.

For Sock Puppets you will need…
You can use whatever you like. This is just what I found in our 'doing box' (that is now really a 'doing garage').
- Some old socks.
- Googley eyes.
- Strong glue (suitable for fabric).
- Bits of felt, foam or other material for ears and mouth.
- Old lolly pop sticks
How to Make Sock Puppets
It couldn’t be easier. Stick down the googley eyes and other bits of felt or foam. We had some bits of foam that were sort of ‘ear shaped’ that we used. But you could use whatever material you like and if it’s not the right shape, just cut it to size.
Make sure you have strong glue, something that will stick to fabric. Otherwise the bits will just fall off and you’ll have disappointed children.
Now it’s time to play!
